How much sugar is in Halloween candy?
A fun-size Halloween candy has about 1 to 11 grams of sugar per piece, and most fun-size chocolate bars have 7 to 10 grams, about 2 teaspoons. Because kids ages 2–18 should have less than 25 grams of added sugar a day (American Heart Association), just three fun-size bars can use up a whole day's limit.

What is the daily sugar limit for kids?
The American Heart Association recommends that children ages 2 to 18 eat less than 25 grams (6 teaspoons) of added sugar per day, and that children under 2 have no added sugar. For adults, the AHA advises no more than 25 g a day for women and 36 g for men. Nearly all the sugar in candy is added sugar. How many days of sugar is in a typical Halloween haul?
Add up the sugar and divide by 25 g. A worked example: 40 fun-size pieces averaging 7 g of sugar each is about 280 g of sugar, or 70 teaspoons, which is about 11 days of a child's daily added-sugar limit in one bag. A bigger haul of 80 pieces is closer to 22 days. Skelly does this math for your actual bag from one photo.
